US Visit
10 October 2000

We flew into Boston on September 5 and spent a few days there before driving to Chatham on Cape Cod to go to Oonie's and Peter's wedding on September 9. This is Robert with the bride.

We were asked to usher other guests to their seats at the ceremony. Here I am pretending to be from the Secret Service. It was quite hot wearing a suit.

Later in the evening we were asked to help decorate the bridal couple's getaway car. They left the reception in a boat and picked up the car at a nearby jetty.

The following day we flew to New York. Here we are on the top of the World Trade Center in front of the view of the rest of Manhattan Island to the North. You can see the Empire State Building between us. This was taken a year to the day before the buildings were destroyed, so we won't be seeing this view again.

We caught the ferry to Liberty Island and Ellis Island. We didn't climb the statue.

On September 13 we flew to Key West to visit Dennis Allen. Here are Robert and Dennis on the beach in front of the place where we were staying. It was hot and humid but not very busy.

From Key West we flew to San Francisco on September 18. The next day we climbed up to Coit tower and another tourist took this picture of us with the view of the Golden Gate bridge (you may need to scroll right to see the bridge).

In San Francisco we stayed with Joel and Sam who let two self-contained apartments in their house. Joel is on Robert's left in this picture. Sam took the picture.

While in San Francisco we went to Folsom Street Fair. Here I am with Greg and Giorgos at the fair.

After just over a week in San Francisco we flew to Los Angeles on September 27 and stayed with Trammell. This is him in front of his place in Marina del Ray.

Trammell took this picture on the beach outside his house.

We returned home on October 1.
